If you’re a doctor, I’m sure you get tons of questions from would be patients who ask a million and one questions about your professional opinion or guidance on their aliments. The questions rarely result in the questioner becoming an actual, paying patient, but they do value you and your professional education enough to pick your brain about their medical urgencices.
My profession is no different, in the sense that I receive several DMs, emails, texts, and even phone calls from “need to be” clients, questioning their financial decisions and motivations. I almost believe if you have to question, you may already know the answer deep down, but to each his own in the pursuit of finance and happiness.
Yesterday proved no different, as a family member messaged me on social media and then called me 2 days in a row to give him financial advice on a money matter that he had already clearly made a decision on, prior to contacting me. You don’t know what you don’t know that you don’t know, so I always welcome inquiries, but in the same regard, I realize some people are hell-bent on making horrible financial decisions that will prove detrimental to their overall financial wellbeing.
